Can I get sick (a cough) from cleaning up trash that has both old and new dog droppings mixed in it?

On Wednesday I helped a client clean out a disgusting garage. It had knee deep household trash with old dry dog poop and new dog poop mixed in. There were also some mouse droppings mixed in. I wore long pants even though it was at least 90 degrees out. I also wore latex gloves the entire time. I'm wondering if maybe I inhaled something because now I'm coughing and not feeling too well. Can I get sick (a cough) from cleaning up trash that has both old and new dog droppings mixed in it?
You probably should've worn a decent respirator as well as the gloves. These sorts of places are crawling with disease. Can I get sick (a cough) from cleaning up trash that has both old and new dog droppings mixed in it?
You were in a war zone really. There's probably every type of airborne disease you can name there, from the dogs to mouse (hanta virus)

I hope you had your nose and mouth covered and washed good when you got home.
UGHH! gross you should have worn a respirator, I would go get checked.
