What is normal for snake droppings?

My sister recently noticed that our corn snake's droppings are runny with red streaks in it (it has white in it as well), and we were wondering if this is normal or a sign that it's sick. What is normal for snake droppings?
eww dont ask that thats digustingWhat is normal for snake droppings?
Abnormal feces is always a sign for concern. Diarrhea plus blood (that's what I'm guessing the red streaks are) is most certainly not a good thing. (The white are urates, a snake's form of urine, which is nothing to worry about.) The first thing that always jumps to mind is a parasitic infection. Depending on the type of parasites and the severity, they can cause serious problems. Luckily, fecal tests are fairly inexpensive. Take a fresh sample of the feces and drop it off at a vet clinic. If there are parasites, talk to your vet about treatment; there are many different options. If not, I suggest a vet trip anyways to test what might be going on in there.

Hope s/he's okay! Good luck!
Hi Jill,

this is normal for a corn snake, especially young corn snakes. They have runny droppings with pinky stuff.
