What do mouse droppings look like?

I found these small, black, things that look like the ends were pinched. I'm pretty sure they're mouse droppings, but I can't figure out how a mouse would get in! They were only present under baseboard heaters and in 3 out of 4 corners in my living room. Could another species have droppings similar to a mouse? I want to get rid of whatever I have because I also have a baby! What do mouse droppings look like?
Before you decide on a course of action it is imperative you identify the pest! Look on your baseboards and see if you notice a ' grease ' line. Rodents do not see well and will rub up against the baseboard for guidance. They always leave a trail of body oil or grease from their coat of fur. If you see these lines, then you have a mouse or rat problem. I would not recommend the use of ANY rodenticide. The active ingredient in most is an anti-coagulant. The rodent bleeds to death. The problem is there is no antidote. None. All medical personnel can do is administer massive doses of vitamin K. Don't use them. Rat or mouse traps can work, but can be dangerous to small children, as these traps can easily break finger bones. If theres no children present in your home bait it with peanut butter, then put a marachino cherry on top. Rodents can not resist these cherries and can smell them from great distances. If you do have children I would strongly urge the use of glue boards. They work. Just put a marachino cherry in the center and be patient. Rodents are creatures of habit. It will take some time ( 1 or 2 days ) before the rodent will go for it. When the rodent activity has stopped( no more droppings ) find their entry point and seal them shut. What do mouse droppings look like?
~~You have perfectly described their droppings. Now you need traps and lay them around the area you see the droppings, as well as dark places and electrical places (like around you computer tower), TVs. I would use the humane traps with a baby, as the spring type traps could break a little ones finger. Investigate all around your house and look for torn vent screens as well as any hole they could get through (it does not take a very big opening, they can literally squeeze through unbelievably tight spots). Fix those and get rid of the one or ones in your home and you'll be mouse free. Good luck!~~
Mouse droppings look like black rice kernels and rats look more like black tic tacs. Remember for every one rodent you see, there are 20 more you don't. Rats can enter your home through a hole the size of a quarter and a mouse the size of a dime.
Sounds like it to me. Mice can get in the smallest places.Just set some traps with peanut butter. You'll get him.
They look like a smaller black tic-tac......good luck
