Bird droppings, do they ruin the paint on your car?

My husband swears that it does (if you leave it on there for months)! He said that it will eat away your clear coat.Bird droppings, do they ruin the paint on your car?
Actually, YES they do, particularly if the droppings are allowed to remain on the car for any length of time! There is a kind of acid in the droppings which eats through the glaze in the paint, leaving a permanent stain which is very difficult to remove. Pigeon droppings are the worst. This happened to my car once when I left it parked under trees in London and next day it was covered in splats! Took me hours of labour to get it out but you could still see faint marks from where the droppings had been! .. So good luck, and dont park under trees!Bird droppings, do they ruin the paint on your car?
No, unless you leave it there too long. (more than a few months.)

If you're a regular car washer, it should be fine.

I have never washed my car (ok, like twice a year) and i have just 3 spots of damage from bird droppings.

I think it has something to do with the acid in it.
Yes, they do and washing once a week will not keep the clear coat from peeling after the birds have pooped on it regularly for 2 years........
Yes, they can do. It depends on the size and strength of the 'poop'. Wash them off as soon as you can!
no, but they can ruin clothing.
no.and whoever told you that is wrong.
