This will soak the droppings so that they are soft enough to just wipe away with soft tissue paper, thereby eliminating the need to scrape.
If any is still stuck to the paintwork after this, just soak it some more and try again. If you're in a hurry and want it off sharpish, don't scratch at it with anything harder than a fingernail.

soak sponge or bit of kitchen roll sit it on dirt leave for about 2mins then wash off job done
Forget what all these people are saying !!! Trust me the best way is to lick it off with your tongue. It might not taste to good the first time but trust you get used to it and it always works.

Boil a kettle, let it cool down a little. Then pour the hot water on to the droppings. It will melt away and should come right off.

Sponge water and washing up liquid on it and leave it for a bit.Afterwards it should come off.
Put a soapy wet cloth on it for a few minutes, then wipe carefully. Repeat if it doesn't all come off. Then re-polish the area with a good wax to seal the surface. Bird poo attacks most modern paint surfaces, so keep a good polish on the car. Also consider keeping a bottle of soapy water and a rag in the boot so you can clean it up as soon as possible.
Warm water and paper wipers or if water not available I always carry Mr Muscle window cleaner in the boot, I use that to soften the muck and carefully remove with a paper wiper
