I found a small amount of blood in my dogs droppings, skin is a little red as well. What could be the problem?

My dog is an Airedale, approximately 11 years old. The last few times I have walked him i noticed a small amount of blood in his droppings. His skin is seems a little more red then usual but he has not been acting any different other than old age is kicking in. I am broke currently and cant afford a vet bill so i am hope to get some good advice as to what could be wrong with him. These are some causes... although it may just be old age. even though 11 isn't too old. one of my dogs (yellow lab) is 13 years old and that's the common death year for labrador retrievers.
